It’s the end of the year, which is always a good time to reflect. And this year has been quite a year! I had to look back through pictures to remember all the things I had the opportunity to do. Here’s a quick recap:

We’ll start out with the most important “update,” I become more obsessed with my dog with each passing day. Jameson is growing up, and my dog mom wardrobe is growing with him.

Speaking of my favorite guys, my brother, John, is stationed at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, which means I basically have a weekend roommate, and it’s awesome. He drives up almost every weekend, and sometimes gets to hang out with my friends more than I do.

Although I didn’t travel as much as I would have liked to this year, I got in some great trips, and Jameson joined me on most of my adventures! I got to go home for the first time in quite a while in March, and I have had some dear friends come out to visit me. I got to go to Austin for the first time with my best friend who lives in Chicago, and I spent essentially every weekend at the beach this summer. I also got to go to Asheville in the autumn to see two of my dear friends get married, and I went to Nashville for work.

Speaking of work, I switched jobs in August, and I’m now working in the healthcare industry. I get to do more of what I love, and I’m truly enjoying this part of my career journey!

Onto boys, of course. After getting dumped two days before starting my new job, I had a lot of change in every department of my life, but the breakup was definitely for the best. And it was certainly to the delight of many of my friends and family. I’ve been dating, but few have truly sparked my interest. Frankly, I’m excited for Jameson to be my New Year’s kiss this year.

If this year has taught me anything, it’s that I have the most incredible, supportive group of friends in the world. There’s been a lot of change, and stress surrounding that change, that’s happened this year, but they have been there for me through it all – even when I haven’t been able to be the most present friend in the world.

I’ll be hosting Christmas at my home again this year, and I’m really looking forward to it. John, Mama, Jameson and I will be enjoying my cozy condo while watching White Christmas and drinking copious amounts of wine.

I plan to spend the next week reflecting further on the year and figuring out my goals for next. I have some pretty lofty ideas in mind, but I think 2019 will be the year to face them head-on.

All the Love this Holiday Season,

Jess
